ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson on Monday denied claims of former Inte
rior Minister Chaudary Nisar’s meetings with PTI leadership.
He said that the party had no intentions to take Nisar on board. He clari
fied that PTI Chief Imran Khan along with forme
r PTI Secretary General Jehangir Tareen was occupied with a membership drive in Rawalpindi. The spokesperson added that PTI Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also in Multan and thus the reports of any such meetings were baseless.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Member of National Assembly Ramesh Kumar had shifted lo
yalties to PTI on Sunday. Kumar had announced his change of party in a press conference with Imran Khan and othe
r PTI leaders, criticising Nawaz Sharif for his ‘foul politics’ and had also urged former Inte
rior Minister Nisar to join PTI.
The current political environment is at a verge of a breakpoint for the political parties as members are shifting their lo
yalties towards the favoured side. Ever since Nawaz Sharif was ousted from public office
and removed from party’s presidency through a Supreme Court decision, PML-N seems to be losing its leaders to PTI.
Previously, PML-N leader Raza Nasrullah Ghumman had announced on March 14 to have joined hands with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
With almost a week’s gap two PML-N leaders including Member of National Assembly (MNA) Raza Hayat Haraj and MNA Dr Nisar Jatt had announced shifting their lo
yalties to PTI.
